Smoked Salmon Tart w/ Spices and Lemon Olive Oil

Smoked Salmon Tart w/ Spices and Lemon Olive Oil

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet, puff pastry
  • 1, egg 
  • 1 tbsp, il Fustino Dukka
  • a pinch of Aleppo pepper
  • 1/3 cup, Labneh cheese or softened cream cheese
  • 7 ounces, smoked salmon
  • 1/4 small red onion - thinly sliced
  • fresh dill
  • lemon zest from one lemon
  • 1 tbsp, capers - drained
  • il Fustino Lemon Olive Oil - for drizzling

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Roll out the puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Score a rectangular shape in the center of the puff pastry (about an inch from the edge on all sides), make sure not to cut through the bottom of the puff pastry.

Make an egg wash by whisking the egg together. Brush the egg wash over the border that you created on the puff pastry and sprinkle the dukka and aleppo pepper over the egg wash. 

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

Once golden brown remove from the oven and use the back of a spoon to gently press down the inner rectangle, which creates a raised border.

Spread the labneh cheese in the flattened center rectangle. Then layer the smoked salmon, thinly sliced red onion, capers dill, and lemon zest. 

Drizzle lemon olive oil over the top and enjoy!
